Editing Patterns in Lightroom
This event is scheduled for February 2, 2027: 6-8pm MT.
Zoom will translate the session time to your local time zone. 8-10pm ET, 7-9pm CT, 5-7pm PT
Knowing how to use Lightroom's editing tools is one thing. Knowing what your photograph needs is something different.
It’s easy to approach editing as a checklist: adjust exposure, add contrast, change the highlights and shadows, increase clarity, add a mask. But not every photograph needs the same adjustments—or the same editing process.
In this free webinar, we’ll explore editing patterns: a practical way to think through an image, identify what it needs, and choose the appropriate adjustments to get there.
Rather than focusing on individual Lightroom controls, we’ll look at the basic stages that appear repeatedly in a thoughtful editing process. We’ll begin by evaluating the photograph and deciding what we want the finished image to accomplish. From there, we’ll work through global tone and color, consider where local adjustments are needed, and use masks and other tools to refine the image and direct the viewer’s attention.
Using Lightroom as our editing environment, we’ll work through several photographs to see how the same basic pattern can lead to very different edits depending on the needs of the image.
The goal isn't to give you a Lightroom recipe.
It's to develop a repeatable way of looking at a photograph, deciding what it needs, and then choosing the tools necessary to accomplish it.
Whether you're relatively new to editing or already comfortable with Lightroom's controls, this webinar will help you develop a more deliberate and confident approach to post-processing.
