Affinity: What Can It Do
This event is scheduled for March 2nd, 2027: 6-8pm MT.
Zoom will translate the session time to your local time zone. 8-10pm ET, 7-9pm CT, 5-7pm PT
For years, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom have dominated photographic post-processing. They are powerful applications, but they aren't the only way to build a capable photography workflow.
Affinity offers photographers an increasingly interesting alternative.
In this free webinar, we'll take a broad look at what Affinity can do, where it fits in a photographic workflow, and why photographers should be paying attention to it.
Instead of a step-by-step Affinity tutorial, we'll compare its capabilities with the Adobe tools many photographers already know. We'll look at familiar editing concepts—including layers, masks, selections, adjustment layers, RAW development, retouching, compositing, and preparing finished images—and see how those capabilities translate into the Affinity environment.
We'll also address one of the biggest questions photographers face when considering alternatives to Adobe: What about Lightroom?
Image editing is only part of a photographic workflow. Photographers with large archives also need a way to organize, search, keyword, and manage their photographs. We'll explore how dedicated Digital Asset Management (DAM) applications such as NeoFinder and Photo Supreme can fill that role, creating a modular workflow where your image editor and image-management system don't have to come from the same company.
Along the way, we'll consider practical questions about moving beyond an Adobe-centered workflow: what Affinity does particularly well, where the differences matter, what you may need to replace, and whether changing your workflow makes sense for the way you photograph.
The goal isn't to convince you to abandon Adobe.
It's to help you understand the choices that are available—and to show how the editing skills you already have can translate from one application to another.
If you're curious about Affinity, looking for alternatives to Adobe, or simply interested in understanding where photographic software is heading, this webinar will give you a practical place to start.
