Sharing my photographic journey and skills is a passion of mine. I’m excited to share my story and knowledge with Camera Clubs and other photography-related groups.

Additionally, any of my instructional classes can be offered as group presentations.

Each talk can be tailored from 60 to 90 minutes.

The Importance of Post Processing

The physical world is the same for all; however, our interpretation of the world is individualized by our accumulated experiences.  Photography, as an art form, is a vehicle to express those visions.

Shooting for Black and White

Do you find making beautiful black-and-white images a challenge?  Are you interested in learning a bit more about how to create successful black-and-white images?  In this talk, Eric explores the often mysterious black-and-white photographic world, starting with a review of color, tonal relationships, and how to see luminance.  You will learn techniques to see, capture, and process images rendered in black and white.  The presentation focuses on understanding the basics, allowing you to move beyond simple advice and begin crafting your personal black-and-white style.

Lightroom Masking

The addition of masking in Lightroom has been a game-changer. Masking allows you to make local edits to your images directly in Lightroom, often eliminating the need for Photoshop and enabling you to streamline your workflow. This session covers the basics of masks and delves into the power of the Lightroom masking interface. The talk explores how to use the tools to build both simple and complex masks, allowing you to perform precise edits. The presentation will start with an overview and move to an interactive editing session demonstrating the power of masks to dramatically enhance an image.

Getting Started with Infrared Photography

Digital cameras can be modified to capture infrared energy, providing a unique look at the world unseen by human eyes.   Infrared cameras see energy “beyond red” opening up a new creative angle to your photography. This talk covers the basics of infrared, what filters to use, and where to get your camera converted.  I then cover how best ot use your converted camera to capture unique scenes.  The talk wraps up with tips and tricks for processing the infra images in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.

Sharing your work online can be rewarding.  Social media, websites, and newsletters are some of the available options.  Understanding each platform's ins and outs and realistic expectations can be the difference between success and stress.  This talk covers available platforms for sharing, how AI search has upended the internet, and provides suggestions for creating your best version of your work online.
